Program:
CSA Lt. Gen. Thomas Rosser
(Friend of Custer)
Presented by Craig Schnieder
The Board still feels an
in-person meeting is probably not a good idea.
We hope to have our first in-person meeting the end of March, so let’s look forward to that.
For this month, the Civil War Round Table Congress has a lecture at 6:00
p.m. CDT on the 24th presented by Steve Magnuson: Rufus Dawes – To
My Best Girl. Craig Schnieder
notes that Dawes was with the 6th Wisconsin in the Railroad Cut at
Gettysburg. If you go to this link, CWRT
Congress Speaker Page, you can
register by hitting the teal green link under February Speakers. You may see other presentations listed there
from time to time, too. For those
without good internet, please contact Steve Guenzel, 402-475-4240 and a few
(probably no more than 10 or so) of us can gather at Steve’s office to view the
lecture.

DUES
2020-2021 dues are now due,
$15.00 for an individual and $25.00 for a family membership. So far, nineteen members have paid their 2020-2021
dues, with five family memberships, and one new member for a total of $335.00
collected.
Fort
Donelson Monument Status
We are still waiting for
the Secretary of State to appoint four members to the committee mandated by LB
850. When LB 850 passed, the Governor
signed it, but expressed concern that the Chair of the Government, Military and
Veterans Affairs committee should not be a voting member of the Fort Donelson
Monument committee, so LB 35 has been introduced this year to change that
position to a nonvoting member. LB 35
has been advanced out of committee and is on General File. It will likely receive its first vote from
the floor this week.
Hope you can enjoy the internet lecture on the 24th!
