Fort Donelson Monument Status

Great news!  The Secretary of State has acted!!!

At last month’s meeting, Judge Tom Dawson suggested that drafts of the items Secretary of State Evnen needs to sign should be prepared and sent to him to make his job easier.  The CWRT’s Secretary Treasurer emailed the needed drafts to SOS Evnen’s office two days later, on October 29.  On November 3, SOS Evnen called the Secretary Treasurer to report that the documents were being signed; SOS Evnen asked the Secretary Treasurer to call the three other persons he was appointing to the Fort Donelson Monument Committee to let them know they were being appointed.  On November 9, the SOS signed both items:

Secretary of State Evnen Certificate Appointing Committee

Secretary of State Evnen Letter to Donelson Battlefield Superintendent

We are on our way!!!

Hope to see you on the 17th!
